The Kent Community Foundation manages a number of scholarship funds and strongly supports students dreams to pursue a post-secondary education. This is a community-supported effort to help bridge the gap for students who might not otherwise afford to continue their education. This support strengthens the community by producing educated individuals
who contribute positively through enhanced job prospects, civic involvement, and leadership roles.

Scholarships also address skills gaps in the local economy ensuring that the community has a well-prepared workforce to meet future needs. Overall, by supporting scholarships, community foundations not only invest in individual success but also build community pride and engagement, creating a cycle of growth and improvement within the community.

In 2024, we awarded 49 scholarships to 38 students, totaling more than $100,000.

This annual event serves as a celebration of achievement for the recipients and the entire community.  It provides an opportunity to learn more about our scholarships and how to set up your own scholarship as well as, recognize and honor the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of students striving to achieve their academic goals despite various challenges.
The annual collaborative scholarship event is possible due to local businesses, organizations, and individuals having a common purpose of supporting the educational aspirations of deserving students and providing a broader range of scholarship opportunities that cater to diverse fields of study and backgrounds.

We extend our gratitude to the numerous supporters who facilitate the award of scholarships, including our donors, scholarship evaluators, Kent School District staff, teachers who have written letters of recommendation and scholarship committee leaders who have facilitated the tough decisions on awarding the funds.
