he Kent Community Foundation has awarded scholarships and grants since 1986. Through its dedicated fundraising efforts and the development of a robust process for allocating grants and scholarships, the Kent Community Foundation was able to make a significant impact right from the start.
The careful management and thoughtful distribution of resources ensure that funds are directed toward meaningful projects and initiatives that benefit the community. This structured approach not only supports ongoing arts and education programs but also helps address emerging needs and opportunities within the community. The foundation's commitment to these principles has allowed it to maintain and expand its positive influence over the years.
With its broader vision and mission to address diverse community needs, the Kent Community Foundation demonstrated its adaptability and responsiveness by creating the COVID-19 Fund and the Afghan Crisis Fund. These funds were established through generous community donations and reflect the foundation's commitment to tackling urgent and evolving challenges. The Unmet Needs Grant was funded through King County Council Member Dave Upthegrove's office to support organizations striving to overcome the long-term effects of the pandemic.
By launching these funds, the foundation not only expanded its impact but also reaffirmed its role as a proactive and compassionate leader in addressing critical needs within the community and beyond.
